My images are too large!

I've posted a few times here and have realized the importance of posting pics so you guys can give a better opinion. I've taken some pictures and they are always too big and unable to be uploaded. Now keep in mind the camera im working with is on the fritz, & has to be plugged in & the slightest movement turns it off. So getting these pictures is a chore to say the least. I've looked in all my picture editing programs and cant find anything that reduces the size of the file.

An image hosting service sounds like a good idea, are they free to use?

www.photoscape.com is a great program which is free. This lets you resize, circle crop and add a background, layer, sharpen, etc etc.

If you are resizing to put two images side by side on this forum, go with 500X500

    It works well.

Photobucket is a free photo hosting service and allows you to do some basic editing like resizing photos. Simple enough for a caveman to do it.

I find imgur.com to be an excellent photo hosting service, and it's free.
