Teletrade has some fun Kennedy action tonight.
Accented Hair NGC PR69 Ultra Cam, currently at $7200
1965 SMS PCGS MS67DCAM, currently at $6600.
I can't believe they didn't scan either of these coins. If I were the consigner, I'd be one pissed off dude.

The price on the Accented Hair is whacked, but the SMS coin is not yet even up to what the last one sold for on eBay.

If they list a coin that expensive without a picture it must really be a dog. An ugly dog. WOOF WOOF!! (hear it?)
<< <i>outta 43 of them, I found 2 accents, no cam not even ms maybe au. >>
Bill,
MS? If it's an AH, it would be PR.
Dog,
Both of these started much lower then they ended, so those weren't opening bids.

Teletrade still rips people off.
They still do delete unsold items from the tracking page. But, I keep the direct link for big ones like these just so I can see what happened. Last week there were a couple 70DCAMs up that were also "not sold".
There is an old saying in the stock market that I think applies here. Bulls make money, bears make money, but pigs get slaughtered.
Russ, NCNE
Does that mean neither was sold? If not then why?
<< <i>If you spend $6000 and end up with a 67CAM, you might be unhappy... >>
Exactly my thought. That's why I think the owner is a pig waiting to get slaughtered. He should have taken the money and ran.

<< <i>That's how TeleTrade rips people off. They use "currently at" to make it to make it sound like buyers have actually bid it up that high and all you have to do is place just 1 bid and it's all yours! When in reality that is the opening bid and actually all the bidders are stating away. If they list a coin that expensive without a picture it must really be a dog. An ugly dog. WOOF WOOF!! (hear it?) >>
It's hard to imagine a PCGS PR69DCAM AH Kennedy looking bad, but I guess it could happen?

Haven't you seen some Proof 69s posted here? With a big fingerprint right in the middle of the obv field. Or so much die polish it looks like it had a brillo pad on it. Or with white waterspots all over it. Or as hazy as the LA air Braddick breaths.
It's in TeleTrade's best interest to market the coin in the manner which brings the highest bid. They get almost 20% of the highest bid so why do you think they are selling it SIGHT UNSEEN?

Kind of a strong statement considering you didn't even see a scan of the coin. Recently I've found NGC to be every bit as tough on CAM/DCAM as PCGS.

So it could rise to the reserve, some guy comes along and hits it once, it's his.
