A Newp Toned Proof IHC From Mark Feld!

For some reason, I love the look of toned Indian head cents, and Mark Feld had this one in his email list. In hand the coin is a nice deep bronze, but when you tilt it, BANG! The color just POPS! As always, Mark pics out the best coins. She is graded by NGC as PF 65 RB. Will post some of my pics soon.
Here are Mark's pics. Thanks for looking!

Here are my images. Its very tough to get all the toning and the mirrors in one image. There are more colors in hand which you get the idea from Marks pics. The coin is tilted in the NGC slab which makes things even more difficult. Thats why all the rims are not showing on the reverse.

<< <i>Maybe its just me, but it sure seems like all the nice Indians are in the NGC plastic. Nice find! >>
Oddly enough, three out of the four I own are in NGC plastic. All are CAC'd. this one will head there as well.

Congrats on the excellent newp!!
I saw the email when it came out and saw multiple toned PR IHCs. I was SOOOOO tempted but trying to save money
When someone buys a coin, and may have even mailed Mark about it before I could, I don't feel as bad as if it was still there and I would feel a need to buy it
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

<< <i>cool, but another former got me OCD'n about spots, now i can't stop ;0 >>
You should read Mark's description on the coin before you go off about spots (and, for the record, I don't like spots either, but you should read what was written by Mark on this coin still)

Considerable, slightly mellowed mint red color blends beautifully with the more pronounced toned areas, to make for a great visual impression. What looks like a spot to the left of the O in ONE on the reverse, is actually a very small depression. And what appears to be an annoying spot between the base of the N and T in CENT is a small, light colored stain.
In hand the spots are actually very clear, not dark as the images show.

<< <i>I'm sure it's a wonderful coin but those pictures do nothing for me.

That's why only 1/2 my collection are pictures...the rest are coins
(pictures can really call out things that don't show up easily when viewed inhand and lifesize)

That should be your imaging saving grace!
The reverse is out of focus, FWIW. You can deal with a tilted coin by shimming a corner or side of the slab.

<< <i>Much nicer, Ankur. Looks a lot more natural now and I agree it's a pretty IHC!

I did shimmy the slab. Looks in focus to me,

The images of the IHC below are hardly perfect but I think you can easily get comparable focus. Your coin deserves it!

I have purchased a few coins from that Feld feller and I have used him to peruse the bourse floor and an auction for something I might be interested in. The brother has been a professional in all my dealings with him.

Good luck on the photos. It seems to be a challenge for sure.

So true! I recently puchased a beautiful WLH proof from Mark that is pure eye candy.

Same here, and fully agree !!
