and admit what coins you are trying to hoard!

While I don't have much extra cash to lay down on multiples of Seated Quarters, I do have what is leading to a hoard of 1852 quarters. I don't know what it is, but I always seem to hunt these coins out! Maybe its just the look of that fancy two.

1983 cracked skull Lincolns, just those I can find in change or bank rolls.

And why? Because they're cool, and come in a surprising number of varieties. And finding two of the same die are also interesting, given the mintage.

Ahhh...no wonder I can't find a nice one...you got em' all. I really like the third one. I amass a hoard of greenbacks every time I buy a seated quarter. I can only afford one nice example of each - and that's pushing it.

I've noticed I have a tendency to buy coins dated 1888. I guess I just like the look of that number and if it's on a nice coin, I seem to gravitate to it. Silly I know.

I recently started hoarding 1970-S small date cents but stopped after buying one.
Probably just too many of them little rascals out there for one collector to put a dent in the supply.

It seems I have accumulated a lot of BTW and C/W Commems. Especially 1946-P MS-65 BTW's. I have in the vacinity of 80 to 90 of the 2 commems together. Mostly 46 BTW's and 52 C/W's.

I was trying to hoard problem free VG/F/VF/EF 1809 Dimes, but I had to trade one away for a couple die marriages I needed.

I had three at that time
traded one which brought it down to two
and I have since acquired another bringing it back up to three
I'd like to get two more in VF/EF, but I'd consider an AU!

If anyone has an 1811 dime they want to part with I have an 1809 to trade!

Thats a year Im sure lots of people hoard. A few years ago there were posts left and right about WTB one of these little guys and now it seems they have made their way out to the market place. I know when I was looking to buy one, I contacted my usual dealer(at the time had none on his site) about getting one and he said, "What grade do you want?". He had a small hoard all that time.

I have been hoarding mint state 1921 Peace dollars struck with proof dies in certified uncirculated.
Also I was hoarding cetified MS63/64 RB (mostly red)1908-S and 1909-S indian cents and certified MS63/MS64 1938-D walkers in lusterous mint state.

There are a few CPG varieties you could say I'm hoarding, in that I'm always looking to cherrypick them on eBay and never seem to get around to selling any of them when I find them. I also have more clipped Zincolns than I should probably admit.

At one time I owned most of the know 1946-S Double Die Jefferson nickels, I still have the only 3 certified PCGS circulated examples, 2 XF-45's and one VF-35. I want to hoard 1846-P dimes and 1839-O halves along with classic head 2.5 and 5's, but how can you hoard them when you can never find them for sale??

Edit- I do have 19 rolls of circulated 1939-D Jefferson, but I would hardly call that a hoard?

Surprise! It is proof artwork on circulation strikes for me. Usually there is an interesting history behind them. They are obvious and can be quite scarce.

Huh? Okay ... I'll admit ... I had no clue these existed. What are they and is that hoard "remarkable" or just a bunch you saved up? (Sorry if I missed an earlier post discussing these.)

Yeah ... double dimes, double dime errors (I think more than one is considered a hoard), double dime love tokens, and counterstamped double dimes.

At last count I have 94 1827 halves representing 46 of the 49 known die marriages. I guess that one might consider all the dupes a hoard.

Congrats on the nice hoard. I actually purchased an 1852 on ebay a little while ago, but it turned out to be an 1852-O! Some of those "O's" are tough to see in bad pics. I was keeping my fingers crossed, and low and behold...it turned out in my favor.

Bicentennial quarters, in tribute to my dad.

When he was alive, he kept every one he came across, I don't know why. Now that he's gone, I save every one I get in change as a tribute to him.

I've got about 50 of them now.
