Need Camera Advice

LincolnCentManLincolnCentMan Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭✭
I need to get a camra to take some pics of some coins I need to sell. I'd like to stay below $500. Any advice. Most of the coins will be circ keys and semi keys; cents through halves.

Any new camera should do fine for your purpose, they are all pretty good these days. You don't need to spend alot of money. What will matter more to you is lighting. Many threads here on the subject.

Just type camera in the search box and you'll find plenty to read. Like This thread

I bought a factory refurbished EOS Rebel XS Digital SLR with EF-S 18-55IS from Canon for about $320.

It's listed here for $399, but if you send in an old Canon camera, working or not, they'll give you up to $80 off through their customer loyalty program. I traded in an old film SLR body.

Add an SD card and inexpensive tripod and you're still way under $500

For under $500.00 I would look for a good used Nikon or Canon Digital SLR.
