Has this Quarter Eagle been removed from a bezel? or worse, a fake?

The dentils at about 9:00 to to 1:00 on the obverse show a ridge and the reverse at 12:00 also in the dentils.

It's a little late to be seeing it now, after I purchased it. image

Looks like a problem-free and authentic 63 to me.

To me it looks like the dentils have damage from about 9:00 to 1:00 and I see the ridge on the reverse dentils.

    Wouldn't that be a problem?

Real and undamaged. Those two step denticles is typical for this date and doesn't indicate a problem. Looks like a nice 63 to me.

I hope that's the case, but I'm going to have to learn some more.

Here's the specific area that concerns me.

Send it in to get slabbed for your own piece of mind. I've seen the feature that you're concerned about on other slabbed quarter eagles.
