There might be one 72 pack left if the buyer doesn't get back to me.

I wouldn't mind picking up that pack, but I think we should give him at least till the end of the holiday weekend..

I want my 1972 pack - I called BBCE earlier this morning and left a message, as no one picked up the phone. I am going to order some other packs as well at that time.

    Thanks,

I didn't get my usual response from them after payment yesterday, so maybe they were closed yesterday too? Oh well, was hoping to rip in the early part of next week and guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

They may have left early, but they were open for at least part of the day yesterday. I got my add ons and shipping confirmation.

I got an e-mail confirmation from Steve today, but I'm pretty sure that officially they are closed till Tuesday. That's the earliest any shipping company can start transporting a package anyway..

  • Yes agreed. I called several times around 3:30 and 4, no response.

Steve did email me today confirming everything. Tuesday ship, Friday delivery, I hope?!?!

Great card Craig! Looks like a 9.

The right edge looks a little funky...
  • I was thinking the same thing before I turned the page. The left side looks great, and the right has a slight shave to it. Evidence of Trimming? Lol.

Great card and I think a solid 8.5 to 9.

If that right side was straight, might have a shot at a 10.

Nice card either way. 77's are getting harder and harder to find.

I started a 77 set in 8's, and 100 cards in switched to 9's. It's costing more and more...

Well, upon further review, the card is about 1/16" narrower than the PSA 9 I already have. Bummer that it's a factory miscut. image

The 77 Yount is a great looking card, by far my favorite of any of his cards.

I got my delivery today, The 77 OPCs were mostly OC. I left one pack unopened as Reggie Jackson was showing on the back (looks OC) if anyone wants it I'll ship it for $15. The 72 pack was a good one, fisk rookie. Sorry for the lack of scannage, super busy with work.

That Yount is still nicer than 95% of those out there
    Really tough card
If the right edge is wavy they won't grade it
But if it is just cut slightly narrow and at a tilt, they might. Ryan and Rose also are frequently found with the same narrow cut

Two packs and these are the "highlights" I use that term loosely. Bad Centering all around.

I bought 5 packs for each year: 1977 OPC, 1978 OPC, & 1979 OPC. I got lots of star cards but only 21 cards with decent centering. The 21 cards are below. When it comes to sending in OPC cards my experience is lacking. Are any of these worth grading?

If anyone wants to sell their 77s, please let me know. I still need about half the set. I dont care too much about the centering as long as they are not miscut. There are also a few 78 and 79 singles that I need if anyone is willing to part with a few cards.
    Thanks

  • I am in the midst of opening my packs, and a well-centered Nolan Ryan was the gum card in my 79 OPC pack. He's in the freezer right now; how long should I leave him in there?
  • Should I send a picture of my package through Twitter?

If the sugar hasn't leeched out of the gum it should pop off pretty quickly. Make sure your freezer has lots of air without any moisture.

  • I just opened the 72s and they had some brutal centering. Nolan is chilling in the freezer, along with my gum guinea pig, Rick Reuschel.

Here are the 72's from my pack (pitched the gum card).

centering on my 7 packs of '72's was brutal. I guess I got extremely lucky with the two boxes I bought. I got several stars but none are really worth subbing due to the centering. The '79 box was pretty good. I got 2 Ryan's but one of mine was also a gum card. I also got 2 dead centered Molitors but one was a gum card along with a Brock and Murray that were gum cards.

  • Yes brutal is a good choice of words. I stopped myself through 5 of them. Sucks when your Willie Mays In Action has no left border...

Really disappointed as the corners where great.

  • Upon further review, I think the 77s might have had worse centering than the 72s. Here are some highlights:
