I'll let the experts chime in here, but that seems like a good steal. It looks like you get a doily and a rattler, both 64's.

For the experts, how much should the doily sold for on it's own?

Indiannationals, were you the winning bidder?

If he had listed that as a Doily in the title, hell, simply even PCGS in the title, you (assuming it was YOU that got it) would have spent alot more, alot!

The Doily alone would have fetched at least a hundge (hondo, hundred, etc) more than the total winning bid.
    I'll come up with something.

I would have guessed the doily would bring $300-$325 on it's own.

Never saw it or the one you won. Neither listing had any of the keywords that [I at least] would have used in a search. Hard to say what they would have brought with better advertising.

Geez. My average cost of my PCGS doily mint state Morgan silver dollars is around $40 each.

The last three doily slabs were PCGS doily sample slabs @ $10 each acquired in February 2011. One of them is the 1964-D in a 1964 rattler sample slab (or was it the other way around?)

I can't sell these now. What would Drunner do if I left the doily slab sub-field?

    No kidding!

That listing had only two bidders.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

WOW !!! Can't believe these common Morgans are selling double/triple over bid... I remember buying my 84cc MS64 "doily" from my local shop at wholesale bid just 2 years ago. image

Seeing nine bids....it was only the buyer and another individual bidding against each other.

    two bidders...all of ebay?

hmmmmmm Maybe the lust for these is a very very private passion shared by very very few.

Ambro...it was STRICTLY due to no mention of anything in the title...not even PCGS was mentioned. Seller left alot of $$ on the table by not mentioning PCGS or Doily in the title. That's why it slipped under everyone's radar/
    I'll come up with something.

A search for PCGS under coins and paper money had over 45,000 hits. Who has time to search all of those? The seller wasn't that tuned in either as he apparently didn't know what he had. About a year ago, I bought a Morgan that had been listed for 7 days for first bid amount and I was the only bidder.

Keep in mind, there wasn't even PCGS in the title...just "Morgan Silver Dollars MS64" as a title. You'd have to only look through a little inder 36,000 items under Morgans, but who is going to look at NON PCGS titles if they are looking for a Doily? This Doily would have slipped past the best search methods for a Doily (and, apparently, it did, considering there were just 2 bidders on it).

Not knocking you, Ambro...I have the utmost respect for you (and even more for your Feucthwangers...image ), but this particular Doily......flew way under anyones radar.
    I'll come up with something.

I think the deal is fair. I don't see either the buyer or seller as making a deal that is particularly exciting. If you wanted these dates, you did well, but if you bought them just for the slabs, I'm less enthusiastic.

NotSure has got it. There is no discussion on this one. On the eBay front, I check with my key words probably 3-4 times per day. I'll guarantee that I am not the only one. Not a long search, but if anything shows up, I will know. It is painfully obvious the sellers did not do any work in advertising these.

Late . .just got back from a Wendover, NV Track Coach gambling trip . . made $100. Hey, maybe I can get 1/4 of a Doily with that???

Uh . . nice Doilies . .and good scores. Doggone it.
