Do you use your Coin Camera for other things too?

Even with the macro lens taped on....shot this on my way out to the car to download coin photos on another computer.

Actually, I frequently use my work camera to take pictures of coins, but I almost never use my coin lenses (macros) for work.
    When in doubt, don't.

Not often. I freak out when I take the main camera off the copystand and mess with the settings. Now that I have a backup body this is not as big of a deal.

I bought a nice camera and setup as a Christmas present to myself.

So far I haven't used my coin camera for anything and that includes coins. image

Gonna have to play with that thing and figure it out one of these days.

I like airplanes image I actually bought my camera knowing I wanted to use it for more than just coins. My coin lenses are much higher quality, but my "fun" lenses aren't bad.

Yes, and the macro lens is also good at taking pictures of things that are not coins.

image I use my Nikon D-3100 with a Sigma 150MM for my coins and it stays on the copy stand. I have a Nikon D-40 I use for all other picture taking. It makes things much easier....Joe

I use them both for other stuff. And usually after the first "other stuff" picture with my dSLR, i turn off the exposure delay mode.

And since I don't have any pictures of airplanes, here's a flower and a bee taken with the same manual focus macro lens I use on coins.

    Nice moon shot.

I've got a local I shoot on occasion. He's 5 inch tall and 2 feet long. Surprisingly tame. Bottom pic is the baby.

Thus far my nikon is dedicated to coins and I use my point and shoot canon for everything else.

Nice pictures all. Kites are fun as they come in so many colors. The significance of this one is being at the right place at the right time as the wind typicially comes off the water.

    Put it this way, YES.

I have been a pro nature photographer for over 30 years. I have barely shot any nature photos in the last couple of years as the market has gone very soft.

I have shot thousands upon thousands of coins photos over the last few years, extremely boring, almost can't stand it.

Two weeks ago with the tax return money we bought a Canon 300 4.0 L lens. I found out I live 2.5 miles from one of the only natural lakes in San Diego with a huge wild bird population.

I just become a Pro Bird photographer, the photo opps at the lake are endless with very marketable subjects. in the last 2 days I have shot about 2000 photos. I will thrash 1800 of them. I will probably market 5 - 10 of them. To get that many extremely marketable images in such a short time span is very rare. I have shot so many High End images of Birds in the last couple weeks I have not even had time to edit. Got to go, back out to shoot another 500 images this evening. I am extremely tired and getting very burnt out, but for perfection, the hours are endless.

Sorry no photos, but trust me they would blow your mind.
