Parsippany, NJ Coin Show Report

Today was the monthly Parsippany, NJ Coin show held at the PAL Youth center featuring close to 100 dealers. There was a good crowd as always, and it seemed most sales were bullion driven. Everyone was speculating what silver will do. Some are saying it will go up to $60-$70, while others were saying its run is over. I went hoping to meet up a specific dealer, who unforunately was not in attendance.
I was planning on selling some silver, but decided to wait. I sold only a toatl of two ounces for melt. Otherwise I sold a pair of MS64 Morgans in NGC old fatties, a 1921 Peace Dollar, and a couple of raw coins. I also consigned two coins with Tom Hyland for the GSNA show. Dealers wanted nice coins, but didnt want to pay up for them from what I saw. There was minimal quality type at the show, and it seemed like everyone was buying/selling common date and raw Morgans. Quite boring if you ask me. Problem coins were sitting as they have been month after month. I saw four raw Draped bust dollars, some that looked rather nice. But I question why they are raw show after show. One thing I have been wanting to do for quite some time is bury the hatchet with a dealer I had a problem with a few years ago, and I did just that.
There were two coins I was considering, and I opted with a 1834 Classic Head $5 in an OGH AU50 CAC. The coin matches nicely with my 1836, and was purchased for a fair price.
Board members I saw at the show included: Seaeaglecoins, RLD14, DaveG (from a distance), Commemdude, Halfhunter06, Gdavid70, Halfcentcollector, Oreville and Joebb21. Kiushu was absent today, and I hope all is well with him. Spoke to other attendees about other type of collectibles as well.
This show is always a blast, and I always look forward to it every month. Next up is GSNA!
Here is a quick Iphone pic of the 1834 $5 piece.

I was helping an elderly neighbor sell some coins, so I didn't get around as much as I wanted too.
The aisles were very crowded and I felt the buzz of a lot of business being done. As AnkurJ said, it felt like a lot of bullion-related activity, though.
For those of you in/around New Jersey, don't forget the annual GSNA show (May 12-14). It's a bit smaller than Parsippany, but the show manager makes a special effort to get dealers who don't typically come to Parsippany. It's usually a great show!

I agree! I'm sorry I'll have to miss it this year. (I'll be in Europe for an auction.)
