Tab Toning?

  The untoned areas of the rim at 4k & 10k look like it might have had a tab across it but it's not the classic example of tab toning. Really it's not tab toning at all. Everything should be toned EXCEPT for the tab.

  It's tab toning but not the best example I've seen. Collectors of the style prefer a more continuous and well defined pattern. That coin was probably tilted in the card so the right half of the tab wasn't in contact. That coin should carry no premium. My experience have taught me that a sharp and well defined pattern will still only bring a modest premium. Once it starts getting colorful then it's a different story.

  I could not state the coin was not in an original holder/tab. The oregon is not "tab" toned IMHO. Semantics...maybe. Market reality which defines "tab tone" for sure. K
