Is this environmental damage on this Lincoln Proof?

It was in a flip.....maybe vinyl and gave it almost a snowflake appearance.
Or can it just be a toning pattern....I don't think so.
It would be a shame because the toning is outrageously beautiful

Soft vinyl flip ???
<< <i>PVC... Especially after looking at the last close-up you provided. It shows extensive green deposits.
Soft vinyl flip ??? >>
I think so.....maybe. Its kind of a white snowflake look on the entire coin surface.
If I soak it in acetone, will it help?
Or is it beyond help?

Acetone bath should not hurt it. I tried them on a few proof Lincolns with that haze, but had little results. The acetone itself did not change the color, so I guess you have nothing to lose. Good luck !!!

Yes, that would be a good way of describing it.
I will call the dealer in the morning and tell him first what I'm doing and let
him decide if he will let me do it. Or refund me the money.

<< <i>Ok I must be the only one who actually digs that coin! I think it has lots of character. It may never grade but I think it is quite neat! >>
Agreed, I like it too.
