Ebay auction - What did this guy win?

1951 Franklin Half Dollar

I spotted this auction a couple days ago and bid it up to the end as I'm pretty sure from the pictures that it is a proof half not a BU "Proof-like" as described; but I wasn't willing to take a much bigger gamble on it.

So did the winning bidder get a steal?

Unknown to only the winning bidder.

However, there have been cases in the past (as reported on these forums) where common circulating Franklin Halfs have been polished to "look" like Proofs.

I see nothing in the sellers current or past listings that would raise a red flag though. My guess is the buyer got a proof whose actual condition is unknown.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
