Yes I was slumming this morning at the local flea market. A few have dates 1803 and 1805. I have not identified them all yet but it should be fun trying. Cost me 10 cents each

    is one a 1793 strawberry?

youd get a 'you suck" for that!
  • 10 cents each??? I want to shop at YOUR flea market! You have at least two early U.S large cents pre-1808 ..a few George II halfpennies (1730-54) and at least one George I halfpenny (1719-24). Once you get done ID'ing them all, I'd love to know what you actually have. And if you need help, I will be glad to take a crack at each one. You never know with these old coppers!

For that price, there is a nice coolness factor, no matter image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

So far 5 are large cents from the draped bust series. 1802, 1803, 1805 and 2 I cant make out

    1807 half cent

    a virginia half penny

2 slicks with a diameter of the virginia half penny

the rest look like british and irish pennies
  • if there is anything at all visible on either of the slicks, maybe you can post closer shots--maybe one of us can still tell something. I thinks its always worth trying to identify even "worn slicks". Who knows if you'll find you have a 1790s half cent or rare colonial considering the grouping you have.

I will try to get better pics. I may have to revert back to my old point and shoot though. I bought a higher end camera but have not sat down and really figured the thing out yet.

I did leaf through the colonial portion of the redbook but no matches that I can tell. I may try to attribute some of the large cents with the remaining detail.
