Question on Grading of 1960-P Washington Type B ... and what is best way to photo a coin for posting

I have the attached 1960-P Type B quarter and am going to submit for grading. I've learned in an earlier thread that it is an extra $24 for attribution since the Type A/B variations are not included in the PCGS Number Lookup.

My thought is it's definitely worth it since the Type Bs seem to bring a nice premium, and I "think" this one should grade pretty high. But, I welcome the thoughts of the board since, while I L-O-V-E to gamble, I'm not into throwing $24 away!!

Also, how can I take good pictures to post on the forum for review (and for a better pic on e-bay)? The pics below are obviously scans, but I'd love to know how to take a REAL picture so y'all can see it and comment. I'm thinking about trying my iPhone. The reverse scans look horrible, but there is definitely separation between the E & S.

Thanks!
Tim

  • Based on the scans the coin looks very clean but very hard to judge from but the coin definitely looks MS at least 65 from the photos IMO. As for taking pictures I cannot help you with that but there is many camera savvy people on here that could help you out with that.
