yes, love and respect ...............
my attempt at humor must have been a little passive/aggressive
We didn't get in until about 5:30 or so and by time we got our display set up it was time to head out. I did meet one member from the LSCC board though. Please stop by and say hi tomorrow, i'm the young kid in serious need of a hair cut
Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!
Parking is $5 at the CTA station on River Road maybe 1/4 mile or so walk north of the convention center. If you are lucky, you could even leave the lot if you need to get away for a while (to head down River Road to Gene's and Jude's), and then get your spot back and not have to pay again.
got to meet shrubery John and Monster ....err or was it Mazda somethinor another , anyway they were good fellers and Monster/Mazda had his pretty wife with him and was showing off his new Jefferson Rainbow
PCGS MS66 nickel that he bought for MOON money ! I should talk , I bought a MS67 PCGS 1958-D dime for $325 !!!!!!!!!!!
and I nearly shelled out $500 clams for an insanely toned PCGS MS66 '49-D Quarter !
......i offered $400 but just could not go home and face the wife @ $500 if you know what I mean - I mean 400 is within reason -but 500? am I nuts or what ?

I saw one feller there with hair down past his waist - bet he hadn't cut it in at least a decade ,
I saw the feller Bushmaster calls the " SUIT " , a high roller that collects super white hi-grade PCGS Franklins
he was submitting a bunch for Show Grading in hopes of some Monster upgrades ;
his coins were fantastic .....he was telling me about a bluish toned '63 Franklin with FBL that was for sale here or on eBay ............somehow I missed it
<< <i>I saw one feller there with hair down past his waist - bet he hadn't cut it in at least a decade >>

You Dog! I went back to see if you passed on the dime, and if it was there I was going to make a trip to the ATM! LOL! That Dime is purty! Dennis is a tough SOB aint he?
..........as much fun as it is hunting coins at a big show like that , it's just as much fun to meet folks from the boards in person
I also got to chat with Larry Shaperio (sp) , had seen him for years at shows but never placed the face with the name , and never realized he was a Dollar specialist extraordinaire .....
I can see why so many like him a lot .....................very down to earth .
And Foodude even bought some of my Franklins ,
and as far as coins being sexy ; I shook Laura's hand again and while waiting in the food line for a 13$ roast beef sandwich , I chatted with an enchantress that is one of the most beautiful
Speety - I could not find you .....most everyone there was bald headed , so I ought have been able to locate you .............. I will see you at the ANA @ the same place ...yes ?
I had my 6 yr. old lil' feller with me and it took all of 10 min. for him to become bored stiff ..........there's a reason you don't see a bunch of wee youngins' at a big show !
I am sorry I missed you . I did get to shake hands with M.J though
I thought by his writing style he was someone special , and sure enough - HE IS
I got to meet Tmot , who made the famous D.Carr custom holders, and introduced my boy to D. Willis, and Julian , and Irma Kane, and a host of others ...........
he had never seen a real 22 k. gold coin before and I tried to buy him a tiny one ............some guys tried to tell me there's no such thing as a 1/20 oz. gold Eagle ; i thought there was
anyway , I found these Chinese Panda 1/20 oz thingies and was astounded at the markup on them ............ they wanted 110$ for the bits 'o circulated gold !
are they serious ?? they melt out at 75$ .......... and they wanted a freakin' 35$ premium for a FREAKIN twentyeth of a freaking oz of FREAKING gold ??????????????
So we settled on a swell deal for a Rainbow toned ! oz. Silver Eagle from a nice young man @ Silver Town . 51$ with the velvet box !
The coin world is experiencing a para-dine shift for sure - 50 per oz. silver has turned the bourse upside down
On the way home I took the little guy to you know where , and I stuffed down 4 more of those famous Hotdogs !
oh yes , I saw Bushmaster there ! He gave me an extra copy of Tomaska's new book .........................................
all I got to say about that book is : nice pix at the end
Paul, Sorry I missed you. I had the LSCC meeting this morning so by time I got on the bourse it was about 10. I was at our display most of the day, even though you missed us, did you get to see the coins?
MJ, Glad I got to meet you (albeit briefly) and glad you got to see some of the dollars. At some point you'll get to hold em, promise!
I got to meet several other members today - good to put a face to the name! It was also nice to meet some of the big-wigs of the business today, and several former owners of some of our dollars. I also got to see TDNs new type purchase, the 1795 dollar in MS65, holy CHIT! Looks like a franklin mint piece.
Oh, and we upgraded one of the dollar, woooohoooo!
Hope to see some more of you tomorrow, we should be there with the dollars until about 3ish or so. PLEASE stop bye and say hi!
