Is anyone collecting....

Is anyone collecting PCI graded coins? Now I know that the older green holders get some respect, that they were relatively accurate, however I'm talking about the newest generation of PCI. Does anyone have these in their collections? How do they stand up compared to PCGS or NGC standards? I'm considering purchasing a coin holdered in one of the newer green w/pillars slab. The coin looks nice, but I am weak on grading skills and rely on the experts. Thanks for any and all feedback....

If you aren't an expert grader, suggest you stick with NGC or PCGS slabbed coins.

On the topic of old slabs that used to garner more respect, I recently got an ANACS graded Morgan, an 1884-O in MS63. Hardly a rarity, but it looks properly graded--dare I say it, even a bit conservatively so. Given that I already have a PCGS graded 1884-O, I may keep this coin in the old ANACS holder for the sake of preservation.
<< <i>123cents, are you serious? Someone bought the rights to use the name PCI and works independently as a self-slabber? I didn't know that was possible....now I'm on the lookout for a defunct grading company and use the familiarity to my advantage...(kidding on my part) ....hope you were kidding also, but I haven't seen anyone else chime in since you posted your claim, so I'm beginning to think it's true. Anyone know who owns PCI and what kind of operation it is today? >>
I'm very serious. Check it out for yourself. The "New" PCI has a website and say they are going to take submissions soon. They have been saying this for months. This is just a ploy to make them look legitimate.
<< <i>As far as I know... The new name is called Dominion Grading Service (DGS). They bought the rights to PCI, and still use the same holders with the new name. I own a few of the old green label holders, as well as the newer gold labels with the PCI name. >>
DGS discontinued grading coins AUG. 3, 2010.
