MINT EXPLAINS PRICING OF THE COLLECTOR HOCKEY PUCKS

The may 2,2011 copy of coin world contains an article in the news section detailing the mints explanation of the pricing for the collectors version of the hockey pucks.

According to the article, the mint takes into consideration the market value of silver at the time of pricing. They also add manufactorig costs, the costs associated with selling and promotion and they consider general and administrative costs to the mint.

Apparently they use silver bought in the past, melted reject coins, and the silver left over after punching out the blanks as well as new purchases to mint the coins.Funny how they restrict the authorized buyers to a small percentage mark up,but they maximize their own price mark up.

Sorry that I am so putor illiterate that I couldnt post the article but read it when it comes out. There is some good information in the article.
