Questions on first submission to PCGS:

Hey all, I am going to send in 16 coins to be graded. Need some advice and your opinions as to wheather I should or should not submit some of the coins. I have 3 $2 1/2 GOLDS AND 1 5$ GOLD that I think might go ms62. I also am thinking of submitting 2 1 OZ platinum proof eagles and 4 1/2 OZ platinum proofs. Added to that I am thinking of submitting 4 1/2 OZ proof gold eagles and 2 1 OZ proof gold eagles.i All of the proofs are in the original boxes sent by the Mint when I bought them when they first came out. My thinking is that with the proofs I might get lucky and get a couple MS 70 grades. Also does anyone have any idea what my cost to have them graded will amount to? I am going to join the Platinum membership of PCSG and get the submissions they offer. If anymore info is needed please take the time to PM me. Thanks Aidens Grandpa

    I wouldn't do the bullion.

The free 8 will cost at least $24 depending on insurance. The other 8 will cost at least $24 + 8X18 for economy or 8X30 regular.

Plus the shipping to them on both.

what he said above, with an explantion

the bullion is really not worth grading, 70's are few and far between, and right now
with metals going nuts most people see bullion and they do not care about the
grade, they think melt-so pass that unless you plan on selling and even then its really not
    worth it.

the 2&1/2 and $5 gold def do, especially seeing as there are so many counterfiets floating.

leave the plat& gold proofs alone, seriously do not waste your cash right now

you will find 4 other coins worthy of submitting-leave the mint and proof modern stuff raw.

    cant go wrong there

allen you an always pm me, if I do not have an answer I can put you in touch with others.

I would have the old gold slabbed. The mint products in OGP I would leave as-is unless you intend on selling in short term (the thought being you can never replace the OGP, but you can always send the coin to PCGS). But that's just me and YMMV. image
