PCGS must be swamped...

They received my package two days ago and it's still not logged in... maybe I should have been buying CU stock instead of junk silver!

Maybe all their graders flew to Chicago to acclimate for the CSNS show?

I sent a package to them Express last Tuesday, it hit their PO Box on Wednesday morning a little after 9AM. The USPS showed a notice was left all day. On Thursday at NOON the USPS still showed that it had not been picked up and a notice was left....at 6:00 PM Eastern same thing...so I picked up the phone and called PCGS. They said the USPS is really slow about getting their database updated that the package has been picked up. PCGS took my tracking number from me and confirmed my package was sitting in their vault and that it would be entered into their system soon so I could see it online.

I checked my account on PCGS.com around 9PM Eastern on Thursday and there it was. Order was entered. So, within 48 hours from them getting the package, it was entered into their system. Now, if I can just get the results for the 15-Day Regular Submission!!!!!

Mine got there friday, still waiting on an email or confirmation that they received it. My first submission, so i'm a little anxious.

If you go to the PCGS main page, log in (top left), look at your account - you can obsess like the rest of us!

If it's any indication, on Friday afternoon of the Baltimore show they were nearly unable to take ANY more submissions even to take back to California. A guy sat down next to me with a huge bulk submission and they accepted it, but they politely asked him to 2x2 his coins instead of leave them in the rolls.

My last regular submission was a little slower than normal and I think was indicative of the volume they're seeing. Sure would rather them be busy than idle.

I started submitting REGULAR instead of economy because I simply can't wait that long and it allows for the possibility of + grades. If it is going to get graded, it might was well be graded as accurately as possible.

Good approach, IMO, if the value of the coins warrants.

My guess is that PCGS is sitting there with a huge pile of incoming submissions, and is still in the process of unwrapping, and then placing the submissions into the correct submission level bins. I can wait, so long as I get the grades I want.

Why couldn't they take any more submissions? Was their carrying case full? Was the Brinks truck full? I don't get it. Who turns away business?

Actually, grades were posted Fri, but they didn't send me the e-mail until Monday night. So, I guess grade posting e-mails are backed up as well.

Wonder if it's the pucks???

PCGS does about 450k coins every quarter. That would be about 20% of a quarters volume. Buy some CLCT stock

That's about 5000 a day, or 83 and 1/3 an hour, assuming a twelve hour work day. 86,000 all at once is still a big floodgate burst. The estimated turnaround time, though, is still showing 15 working days on Regular submissions, so they are either handling it well or fudging on some estimates.

I avoided the PCGS wait, worry and disappointment thingy by only buying graded coins. I love èm, I`m just not built to patiently wait for the length of time the TPGs need to grade coins.

I`m glad they`re doing it and not me. I would grade coins by image if i graded coins.

PCGS must be swamped...
