1923-S Buffalo Nickel opinion please.

  More and more collectors are certifying circulated Buffalo Nickels. They seem to do well in auctions such as Teletrade. I am concerned that your coin has been lightly cleaned from the bright look and the reverse hairlines in the field above the buffalo. I would pass on certifying this coin since it may not grade and its numismatic value wouldn't warrant the expense.

  I would agree with your observations. I did notice the hairlines too. Perhaps not really worth the postage and fees.

  Also there is some of that green goo in "Cents" on the reverse and also appears to have some on the rear leg on the reverse..unless it's something else? I'm pretty sure PCGS wouldn't grade with it on there? Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.
