Another credit card fraud alert

Watch out for orders from the following:

Durango, CO 81301

email address: kliang39@yahoo.com
ip address: 174.70.147.248

Attempted to purchase $7400 in bullion related material. A call to the credit card company said that the account is currently under investigation.

    This is interesting. The IP address of this most recent order (from this weekend) matches the IP address from a bogus order back in February that was to be have been shipped to an address in Ohio. Furthermore, the style and format of the information typed in by the thieves of these two orders is identical to the that of the crooks discussed here.

    Appears to be quite the ring of thieves. My guess is that they are hacking into customers' personal online accounts of the various issuing banks and modifying the billing address on the accounts. Perhaps they're obtaining the login info using spoof-style emails.

    Heads up, online dealers. An exact match on a credit card does not necessarily equal a valid transaction. Be careful!
