Anacs look up.....

AUandAGAUandAG Posts: 24,942 ✭✭✭✭✭
Is there a way to look up a non bar coded slab? Just the E-xxxxB number on the slab.
Seller has given me a list of his slabbed in the SDB ANACS coins.
thanks,
bob

Are you sure they are slabs and not photo certificates? The alpha-numeric serial numbers especially if they are in the E-1234-G format are photo certificate numbers. Some of the earliest slabs did have alpha-numeric serial numbers, but no dashes. I think your best bet would be to contact ANACS and see how far back the records go.

I thought photo as well and asked and he said plastic slab. I'll contact them.
    Tried online and not available.

Ask him how big the "slabs" are. There were plenty of aftermarket holders for the photo certificates. They were typically capital like holders that were around 5X7 inches. They were 3 piece and held together by those nylon type screws. They held the photo certicate and next to it was the coin.

Yes, I didn't think of those. Don't see them very often anymore. He had
the ANACS printed information sheets at his home but they did not have
a grade. For instance his 16-d dime sheet said Genuine but no numerical
grade. From the pics it looks gradable but I have not seen the discs yet!

Called ANACS and their records go back to 92-93 is all. They have no information
on the ANA alpha/numeric graded photo slabs (which I believe these must be).
