    Laserart---from reading your many posts on the subject, I gather that you are almost the SAE nut that I am. I love them a whole lot. I did a thread about being able to take out a roll of slightly worn ones and just hold them and my hand...boy what a feeling!

    As far as knowing the price of the '86 SAE in 1986.....I wouldn't be able to tell you. Maybe someone on the board bought them then and would remember. Other than that, one of our nutty board members may still have some old coin magazine issues from '86....and could look up an ad for you. (Hey, it COULD happen)!

    I would have liked to been collecting SAE's serious enough in 1996 and bought a couple of THOSE rolls, because THOSE prices are just screaming profit!!!!!!!

    1986 proof eagle I think they were around 23.00 went up for a while. Grey sheet ask price is 23.00 now. So they are what issue price was.

    Yes , I think the sae are among the prettiest coins out there, they don't cost a lot and it's easy to get an entire set.

    On the business strikes it depended on when you bought them. I remember them at $7, $8, $11, $12, $15, and $16 during 86.
