I saw that set at the show in Sacramento and it was just awesome! I was staring at the set for a couple of minutes and one of the PCGS employees came over and asked if I'd like a closer look at anything. Well, of course I took the opportunity and spent a few more minutes looking at several of them out of the case in hand! Wow, what an opportunity! Holding that 1855 PR64CA under the light and rotating it around for around a minute or so was definitely a highlight of the show for me!
Nice video. I love the look of proof gold AND the $3 design.
Tom and I used to compete for IHC's and FE cents. I had no idea he was doing the proof $3 series - nice accomplishment for him AND Legend.

<< <i>From the video it appears his holders don't have CAC stickers? Can anyone confirm this? >>
I was at Las Vegas when the set was regraded/crossed - I'm certain that PCGS just held the set for display preparations meaning the holders are all brand new and they've had no chance to physically return to CAC to be restickered.
But why put another sticker onn a PCGS Secure slab? I wouldn't do it, would you?
Only if I was the insecure type OR getting ready to sell.

Given the publicity surrounding this set and the fact that it has a majority of top pop coins while being the all time greatest set, I don't think it really needs CAC Stickers to get good solid prices.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I'll never collect proof gold (moderns aside) but I'll always have a lot of admiration for anyone who can.
Wish I could have seen the set in person.
Great post GB.

I'd be brave as a blizzard, gentle as a lizard, and clever as a gizzard if I had the CAC...
