Hi:
I am not one to ever be called a Stargazer. I have met my fair share of cool people.
That being said, your story and sharing details about the financials of your purchases are really neat. There may be rich and not so rich here. ALL enjoy the logistics of your purchasing for sure.
2 questions:
1-May I see that Proof 68 Morgan?
2-Does PCGS grade your coins the same as mine? (LOL)
Cheers!

Don't have a picture - perhaps the new owner will eventually post it.
Yes, they grade my coins the same. I had to choose to downgrade a few in order to put them in the PCGS holder [the 1799/8 dollar for example]. I'll do that when I believe the lower grade is the proper grade. I won't do it, however, when I feel the coin is properly graded as is ... such as a 1912 proof Saint that was in the deal.

I have 1 Morgan in my type set.
Dates, MM's, VAM's are of no interest.
But if THIS coin does nothing for you, something may be missing in your make up.
<< <i>I despise white Morgans - yet I almost kept that coin. I thought it was amazing! >>
That one is a stunner! And I would have kept it, I think.

Looks more black and white to me. Outstanding.

I'm not a fan of white Morgans either, but I make exceptions for proofs that look like they were struck yesterday and hermetically sealed.

Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
<< <i>But if THIS coin does nothing for you, something may be missing in your make up.
I'm afraid more is messed up with me than just some missing make-up!
But I'll admit that the coin is slowly growing on me - not morgans in general - just that one.
In all fairness, there is one morgan in the MnS collection - a 1904-O MS66PL - just cause type sets require one and it was priced right...

Ain't it the truth.
Wowzer, what a coin.
For the record, the Morgan is my favorite coin and this coin just may be my favorite Morgan. So far.

<< <i>I do hope PCGS called that a DCAM? >>
Simply spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!
I can only think of a few of those known in existence. One being a 93 cc & the 21 Zerbe that I recently saw in person.
P.S. Bruce - looking at the Zerbe Proof, the reverse looks like anything but a C3 reverse. Parallel arrow feathers?

Simply stunning.
Thanks for sharing.
Congrats on all your newps!!!
Thanks again for posting those coins. Many of us without deep pockets live vicariously through the acquisitions of collectors such as yourself. Amazing coins and I love the Zerbe coin as well. Just spectacular!

What did that baby sell for?? It is quite nice!
The 1893 PCGS PR69 Deep Cameo.
photo coming soon
Think about this, after 25+ years of operations, only ONE Morgan has been deemed worthy of grading PR69 and one nearly a PR69! These were originally graded back in the early 1990's. They are as black and white, deeply mirrored as you will EVER see! Even though the person who owned them was an investor, he picked great monster coins. Both of these coins WOW us so much we have not been able to let them out of our sight.
LEGEND NUMISMATICS WILL BE DISPLAYING THE 1894 PCGS PR68+ DC/ CAC AT OUR BALTIMORE TABLE: 555
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
This collection came from an investor and not a collector. Did he have just one source finding/advising him these coins and advising him? Almost had to for him to squirrel them away on the QT right? Private treaty deals? I saw the proof gold descriptions that he had on The Legend site. Holy Moley.
Your jaw must have hit the loor when he whipped "the good stuff".............Investor? Mad genius sounds more like it...........Amazing story. Thanks for making us all a part of it. MJ

Tradedollar did well to pass on that. He only wants the best. WOW! A 69!!
Just look to the right and below the Eagle. Amazing. No disrespect to the 68, but I think I know why the man passed. Just my opinion.
Cheers!
I am going to Baltimore to see the 1894. I can't wait!
<< <i>Bruce I have to ask. You don't have to answer obviously.

He purchased all his coins from Jay Parrino - who was the leader in the market for high end coinage in the 90's. Curiously, Jay disappeared from coins after the turn of the Century ... and Legend pretty much took his place as the leader in that segment.
Perhaps he shouldn't have called me a 'pissant'?
<< <i>That 1894 from Heritage is not the TDN coin. Laura told me the TDN coin was away since 1995. It had been in one of those "coffin" large green holders. She won't tell me what it sold for.

No Kidding. Did you just wake up??

LOL. I guess you got the last LOL!
May I ask again, how much did that 68 sell for? If you can't say, silence is golden.
Cheers!
