Shill alert?

thisnamztakenthisnamztaken Posts: 4,101 ✭✭✭✭✭
I think I'll pass on this

The seller has a total of two feed back. One of those is private and the other is for a $3.58 item.
Twenty-five of the twenty-nine bids on this expensive coin are from someone (shill?) with 0 feedback!
Whats wrong with this picture, or am I being too suspicious? image

  • I think bidder i**e (0) placed multiple bids to try to beat a previous bidder, t**n (44).

None of the bidders has a majority of their bids with this seller, so doesn't look like a shill, at least at a distance.

As far as the seller, who knows............

I thought about that too. You may be right. The whole thing just doesn't look or feel right to me in my gut.

VF DETAILS. No mention of the what the problem is that gave it a details grade even though it would be right on the holder. Forget about Shill bidders as so much as not getting full disclosure.

I NEVER worry about shills and I have probably bought ten thousand coins on ebay.

Pick you price and set your snipe.

Kind of looks like typical newbie bidding. I see some newbies will inch up bids in small increments until they hit their max.

From reading posts here, I have learned that if a seller doesn't include all relevant information in the description, he's being dishonest. And if he does, but doesn't include a picture illustrating that, he's being dishonest. Best I can tell, buyers want to be able to bid on auctions without reading the descriptions but they want all the information included in the descriptions anyway. Or something like that.

That 0 feedback bidder has bid on 15 items with 11 different sellers... he/she has placed 144 bids on those 15 items! I don't think they've grasped the eBay thing yet!
