I believe the answer is yes (at least for the 1916D)... they're also giving FH designations to SLQs.

Just looked at the Pop Report... there are 124 AU FBs across all dates. There are even 40 from PO1 to XF45!!!!! image

  • I suspected that would be the only exception the 1916-d. thanks

If the bands are fully separated, what has the amount of wear got to do with it?

Someone post one of the PO01 FBs (1), FR02 FBs (2) or AG03 FBs (17)! image

    I've seen AU58FB's

And yes they are doing FH SLQ's down to AU50.

I don't see how a PO1 dime could still have bands! Somethings not right!

There isn't a coin that is PO-1 FB. Probably an XF45 FB though.

PCGS will give FB designation down to AU50 for only the 1916-D and the overdates.

I once saw a 1916-D Mercury Dime in a PCGS Good-4 FB holder. Let's just say that the details on the coin didn't quite merit the FB designation. image

    From Don Willis:

<< <i>Here are the rules for Full Band grading. Only the 1916-D and 1942/1 P&D are eligible for FB designation below MS60. These dates can be graded FB in grades AU50 and above. All other dates must grade MS60 or higher to receive the FB designation. >>
