Fake PCGS Morgan on the Bay?

Simply a questionable coin to me. I'll remove this link. The small hits on the cheek are not visible in the eBay photos and the font on the label looks slightly different, but since everybody's sure it's the same coin........

<< <i>You be the judge. The font on the slab selling on eBay looks pretty heavy to me. Prior Heritage auction (2007) closed at $1,600+ w/juice. eBay $1250 BIN??

Looks like the same coin to me. Look at the mark on the reverse to the right of the eagles's wing. The eBay seller's pictures look overly done, while the HA pictures are typicla pics for HA. I don't think it is fake, but then again, I am not 100% great at picking up on these.

Agree that there is that spot by the eagle's wing which looks similar in both auctions. But the frost breaks on the obverse don't match at all. Maybe that is just two different photo techniques? The other thing that bothers me is that while the front of the slab appears identical in both the Ebay listing and the HA listing, the reverse of the slab is totally different. Blue sticker on one and gold sticker on the other.

    My conclusion: I don't know.

    Same coin.

  • same coin...false alarm. You need to learn more about coin photography before raising the alarm as your thread could have cost that ebayer a sale and it appears he has done nothing wrong. image

Agreed. It looks to me like the seller might have just boosted the contrast a lot in his auction photos. Definitley the same coin.
