1944-D/D Merc MS67FB POP 2 With 0 Finer

It isn't too often when you can purchase a Pop 2/0 coin for so cheap. It is really cool to own one of the Finest Known Examples for any coin and this is why I collect the varieties I think. I don't have the bank account to compete with so many great collectors out there so this allows me to win every now and then. Sometimes I feel pretty lucky to own top examples of uncommon coins that represent a good piece of history. Now I need to get rid of my MS66FB Pop 15/2 example. image

do you have the coin in hand yet and do you personally agree with the grade assigned?

I do not have it in hand yet, the auction was yesterday. From the photos, I agree with the grade. I have seen many PCGS MS67FB coins that look worse. This coin would not be a CAC or PLUS candidate.

Being a big fish in a small pond is great while it lasts.
Agree that you got a deal on it but there are not that many varity dime collectors and if you guys look in diferent places at the same time it does not inflate the market.

You paid 50% more than price guide for a 67FB 44-D, sounds about right for a variety. image

Thanks everyone. After I find all of the varieties, I hope 100+ Strong Merc Variety Collectors come around over the next 20-30 years so I will be able to sell them without getting hurt too bad. When there are only 4 really active Merc Variety Collectors out there, everyone is a big fish. image Thankfully we are all at different stages so there is not competion for a particular example too often.
