"Funny" Comment From a Teller at the Bank...

SaorAlbaSaorAlba Posts: 7,593 ✭✭✭✭✭
I was making a withdrawal at my credit union this afternoon and asked the teller if she had any Ike dollars, $2 bills or half dollars. She said she didn't have any Ikes, $2's but did have some half dollars. But one of them was "old and dirty" and I probably wouldn't want it. Of course that had to be the one I wanted, a dark toned '64 Kennedy. First 90%er in quite sometime. I have done fairly well with 40%ers in the past couple of weeks - 3 of them just for the asking.

Awesome, good for you. I'm just baffled that a bank teller doesn't know
what 90% is, that's good for you though.

  • While some tellers may be familiar with 90% ,or even 40% coin , I do not believe that in
training classes there is a a chapter that covers metal composition of coins . Much like
high schools and colleges not offering 'checking 101' or 'credit card 102' , it's something
one may pick up after being on the job for a while .
