Regional Coin Show in Mpls this Weekend

The Northwest Coin Club of Minneapolis is hosting its annual show this Friday through Sunday. This show is the largest held in Minnesota with about 120 tables, and several national dealers.

Location: Earle Brown Convention Hall in Brooklyn Center, at the southeast junction of Highways 694 and 100. Public hours begin at 2pm Friday, 10am Saturday and Sunday. The bourse is traditionally very active. Other events include a class for Boy Scouts on Saturday, and a significant (and free) youth auction on Sunday.

Hopefully I can get a ride up there. Ive been collecting for 6 years and have only been to 4 of the one day monthly shows. I'm excited. Do you have any more info on the youth auction?

I'll be setup there for the whole show ... my table is typically on the far left hand side from the entrance, to the right of one of the supply people.

You know people are getting lazier and lazier when they can't spell out "Minneapolis" in a thread title.

I would have been interested in attending this show if it weren't scheduled on the same dates as the ANA convention.

I'll be set up there for the whole show. I don't have specific info on the youth auction, but the club does a nice job of soliciting donations. In fact I received a personal phone call from one of the volunteers requesting a donation. I assured her I will make one. They had nice attendance for the auction last year, and from what I heard it was a real success. The same volunteers are running it again this year.

Hope to see you there. My company name is Mill City Numismatics. Stop by and say hi.

  • I don't have the details of the youth auction, but I believe it is intended for kids age 12 and under and begins around noon on Sunday. If you attend the show, please see Ron Schmidt from the NW Coin Club for all the particulars. Ask anyone at the head table to point out Ron.

For details on Saturday's Merit Badge class, please see George Ross at the show.

    Thanks for your interest.

Will Burnsville Coin Company be allowed into this show?

I'll be set up also at the show. It is the largest show in MN, and has been a pretty decent show the last several years. The Northwest Coin Club does a lot of extras that help - such as the coin auction for youths, boy scout merit badge program, and free drawings. I also received a call to donate which I do. Please stop by my table (Lake Superior Coins) so I can put a face with the name. And no, Burnsville Coin does not set up at this show.

If Foodude's there, then I'm there!

I am thinking about starting a Franklin Half collection and I hear Foodude is the closest thing to a Franklin specialist that we have on the show circuits.
  • are there any dealers who will be set-up at the show that would submit a coin for me to NGC? I've been waiting for a local dealer to call me when he sends another submission to NGC, but i've been waiting over a year for his call... it's one of the 1999-w $10 gold error coins.

    thanks
