Purchase related question?

Lets say you bought a coin and the day you received it the dealer offers a percentage off his entire inventory sale...

If it took 2 days to reach you and there's a 7 day return wouldn't this coin qualify as a percentage off item image

No, but you could always ask the dealer to see if they would honor their current (not past) sale.

Absolutely not. You bought it for previously agreed upon price. Anything that happens after is irrelevant. Return it if you like, but do not try to weasel the dealer out of a few bucks. If he bumped his prices after the sale would you be willing to send more money?

I would not ask for any discount in that scenario.

You could ask, but I doubt the dealer would give you the difference.

People do it all the time to department stores.

I would not ask a coin dealer though.

The coupon queen in my house says return the coin. Of course she would succeed at just having them refund the discount.

I take offense to the wording "weasel the dealer out of a few bucks" as I've paid full ask on the last 6 to 7 items I've recently bought never asking if he could do any better.

If I was to get the discount on previously purchased item I'd instantly buy another item which is now on sale.

If it wasn't on sale when purchased then sale price does not apply IMO.
Maybe he just got threw doing his taxes and needed to run a sale to pay the man it is getting to be that time you know.

With all of these complications it is amazing any coins ever get bought or sold.

Tell the coupon queen that it's a substantial enough discount to be worthy of returning and repurchasing...

But I won't be doing that!

I figure it's a done deal. You're happy with the original terms, right? Let it go.

Yeah I'm fine it was a lil pricey but there's been none on the market in 2 years.

I was just irked at myself as I looked at it for 2 weeks before pulling the trigger and if I had just waited 2 more days!

i dont understand some people, you should have waited a few more days, then if it sold to someone else, you could wait another two years to buy one. if you bought a coin before the sale, then your coin was not included in the sale and thus doesnt qualify for the discount. if you bought a 100oz gold bar, and in the time it took to reach you, the spot price dropped in half, would you feel you were entitled to the difference ?

The deal was sealed when you agreed to the price.
