Here we go, sorry if this has been answered but I need your expert advice and will be taking it to the T. Please no bashing, this isn't spam and I will be specific so you can give the best advice. I like silver and I like money, but "odd" collectible silver bars I love more than both. I have bought some 5 gram, 10 gram, 50 gram, 100 gram, and other size bars from members here for my collection and have no intention of selling them. I paid well over melt for them and just want to keep them for my set. Now, I have a 1 kilo, John. Mat poured silver bar I bought many ages ago at $1x/ounce. With silver at $35/ ounce I have decided to list most of my random stuff on ebay (just listed, no completed so that is why I ask about the fees) I don't consider her part of the odd or collectible collection, but in ebay research I saw a poured 1 kilo John Mat bat brought $1405 or about $100 more than APMEX (machined?" bars. So I am consider selling this. So it comes out to about $44 an ounce which if I take to the BM here I get spot, no more or no less. So say $35 today vs the $44 on ebay today per ounce. If I list it and it sells for the same $1405 and silver sticks at the same $35 an ounce, once the fee's, shipping (planned on $8??? passed to buyer), paypal fees and all of that, where do I come out?? Is it worth it to sell to the BM or will I NET more from ebay?? Would it sell on the BST if I asked more (does the stupid thing even carry a premium and are board members willing to pay more?)
I expect, don't sell its going higher, the world is ending, all good survivalist and such, but that isn't what I was going for?
I don't need the money, but I am buying a HMMWV (military hummer) and expect some cost associated with its restoration and yes, I get it will cost more that $1k!
and yes, I get it will cost more that $1k!
Thanks Team,
Jeff
