WOW!!!! IS THIS HOBBY EXCITING OR WHAT?????

Recently I posted a thread about an opportunity that presented itself and I took quite a beating for a while than some very kind members came, picked my up and helped me clean my cuts up. The opportunity I am speaking of in short was my dealer letting me hand pick pieces from a 1 Million dollar plus collection. Im a toner freak and he simply dont have a market besides me. So anyways, the real picking began today. Today was Commemorative day (although I got a quick glimpse and some gorgeous Morgans image). It became quite obvious early on that this was everything my dealer said it was and than some, so I decided I had to get one coin for myself. I wanted to get something that was a real stunner, and when I looked at it I would remember this hoard and my dealer. We will come back to this point in a minute but let me explain how the day went. Almost everything was in rolls. Multiple rolls of Texas PDS a roll of San Diego's, and then there was quite a few in 2x2's.I was so excited to see the what was in the rolls of Texas because it my favorite Commemorative, but as it turned out they were all lack luster with multiple hits image . So as the day went on I got some gorgeous Isabella's a, a knockout Lafayette Dollar, I plucked the top coin off the San Diego roll ( Nice end roll toning), and I grabbed a beautiful Monroe. These coins were purchased for flipping purposes. Now, lets talk about that coin I wanted grab to remember this hoard by. I knew I was going to be making multiple trips to see all of the coins. From what I hear we have barely made a dent. So I didn't necessarily need to grab the "memorial coin" today. Basically, I wanted the coin to chose me. Well about midway through the 2x2's it chose me. The coin gave me this weird feeling in my stomach and I think I noticed my heart beating faster. I knew it was the coin. I think if it comes back under MS67 it would be a crying shame as I have went over this coin 3 times with good lighting and only found 1 hit on his chest. This coin also has plenty of luster to spare!I personally think it is a MS68. So with out further adue I introduce you to my "memorial coin". As always please excuse my poor camera work.

Great pickup, Monstarcoins. Congratulations on your selection. Can't wait to see the pics of the other coins, especially the ones you picked out to flip. Glad the dealer's offer stood.
Thanks for sharing and good luck the rest of the summer. Don't forget to keep us updated.

Expect the Oregon Trail to max at 65. Not enough luster indicated in your images to believe it is any better.

Thanks for the kind sentiments. I subdued the luster to show the color and clean skin. I will snap some shots that show off the luster shortly!

Just place it behind your wife when she is sitting down and tell her you can't take your eyes away image
Glad it is panning out. You weren't here about 5-6 years ago when a "new" member was telling about coins from his grandfather's (I believe that was the person) estate...as he and other family members were splitting them up to be fair.

He came away with some very nice, high grade, commems, if I recall.

He also had quite a few naysayers and people that really wanted to hammer at him to "prove it". The thing is, there is no harm to just let someone show what they want. You can believe or not and that is up to that person.
Again, glad it is working out.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Great looking Oregon. I am not sure that it will get a 68, but only because of the toning in the reverse. I know that you're pretty juiced about going through that collectio, I know I would be and am just a little jelous. The Texas and San Diego Commems are my favorite designs out of all the others. If it were me I would be begging to see Washington quarters if there were any and obviously morgans. Then I would be ready to look at everything else until I passed out.
