Portland, Maine coin show in March

The 71st consecutive semi-annual coin show, sponsored by the Gorham Coin Club, will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2011, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Howard Johnson’s Convention Center (formerly Verrillo’s Convention Center) at Exit 48 of the Maine Turnpike (155 Riverside Street) in Portland, Maine.

There is free admission to the public, and there will be hourly drawings for door prizes.

There will be 50 tables devoted to numismatic material. Tables are $45 each, and there is a $25 vest-pocket dealer and early bird fee.

How much of that show will be stamps?

The show is sponsored by a coin club (The Gorham Coin Club), and as such we try to keep it devoted entirely to numismatics. I doubt there will be any stamps there.

Just a quick reminder of the Portland, Maine show on Sunday. And to address a few issues brought up in another thread, there is plenty of free parking, there is no admission charge, and the venue is located right at the Turnpike Exit 48, with plenty of restaurants and hotel/motels nearby.

Well, I'm off to run the show. I hope to see many of you there. And who knows, perhaps if someone finds something nice, either Barndog, Chumley, Onelinx, Yellowkid, Thisisthestran...., or Mainejim will write up a coin show report.

I hate working 7 days a week, but i'm glad the work is here.
