While we are on the topic of Barber Half Dollars-Please Judge My Two NEWPS

I just got these. I think they are nice and original. Both have that nice circulated appeal to them that I like so much. I think all BArber half dollars are tough in mid-circ grades and these are probably no exception. Thanks! Richard.

To add - I'd have to agree that nice original mid grade Barber halves for the most part are scarce. They can SEEM not as tough, because the specialists on this forum are always posting stellar examples. But look around at your average show, and see how many problem free coins above VG of any date are available - generally darn few.
<< <i>Those are nice coins - I wonder if there was tape or something across the obv of the 98O half a long time ago - probably to keep it from falling out of the Whitman album (hey, I did this when I was a kid!) >>
I think there was at one point in time. But, there is no tape residue or anything on it now. It is going in my Dansco as soon as I get down to the safe deposit box to put it in there.
The 96-O is a very tough coin and a lock 30-35, if not better, I would not be shocked if it ended up in a 40 holder. I love it.
The 98-O is a 25-30 in my opinion, I would personally consider giving it an acetone bath in case there's any tape residue. That is one of the five toughest dates in the series, a truly rare coin in VF-XF.
Both look like they would grade. Both are VERY tough dates.
IMO the rarest Barber Halves are the 93-S, 98-O and 05-O in VF-XF.
Very well done!
