  The same happened to me twice. I think it occurred when I changed my sig line. Probably a glitch in the software.

  Sometimes the software will glitch out and over-write an avatar file name.

  Happens a lot lately (last 12 months) if you change something in your profile (sigline, anything) and have an avatar that hasn't been there for a long time (the older ones seem to stay).
  Happened to me a few times and when I asked, no one had removed it on purpose, so I figured out it was a profile change.
  
  There have been a few threads on this over the last 3-4 months as others hit it and noticed...and posted about it.

  I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
