Cool B&M observation - gold dust

This may be common but I was in a B&M about an hour from my home when a guy called to confirm a deal to buy a 2.2 ounce bag of gold dust they had. I had never seen that much gold dust and this is East Coast. The dealer commented that was the only gold he had sold today but had sold almost 2,000 ounces of silver.

I worked at a B&M in the summers during college, and we had someone bring in a bag of silver dust. Felt like liquid in the bag it was so fine. Pretty cool.

They also took in a 400 oz aluminum ingot in trade, but I didn't see that.

What will they do with this? Take it to a scrap yard?

I remember years ago going to a B&M and they had a silver bar from the Atocha that looked like a loaf of bread.
This was long ago so my memory might be off but I think it was 50-60 pounds.
It sat in that B&Ms display case for years.
