A funny line from the late Steve Tannenbaum

When my wife Lisa was collecting Hard Times Tokens, it was Steve that said "Now I know why you have such a nice collection, each instance that Greg gives you a HARD TIME, you get a token!"

She did have a really nice collection, that got sold to furnish our new home in 2001.

Steve was a great friend and will be terribly missed. Shame his life was ended and will be remembered
not for the great things he did for everyone, but will be remembered cause some clown went on a bender and wrecked
so many lives, one of which was his.

I thank him for helping me understand and cultivate a love for exonumia. My condolances
go out to his family.

Steve was the kind of purist who was able to deliver the message that we need to do more than deify these metal objects for the monetary gain they tend to provide. He emphasized learning every possible facet relating to the creation of these objects, and how they could make us better persons through that learning process.
