  Great CBH coins cept the1814 looks like it has scratch and small gash in the leftobverse field. Tell me it ain't so.

  Bidask, what you think is a scratch in the left obverse field is a clash mark of the eagles wing, which occurs frequently on CBH's when the dies came together without an intervening planchet.
  
  Take a look at many other CBH's and you will see many other clash marks, both on the obverse and reverse.
  
  Clash marks are another feature IMO that makes the CBH series so great to collect, they are chock full of them!!
