What if M.F returned to NGC .........

.......and as a professional grader , upon recognizing his own coin - or that of a relative , friend , or accomplice ;
graded the coin two points higher then he thought it really was ?
A feller asked me that one time ........... I really could care less

I think you mean that you "couldn't care less".

Actually, since it's upmost on PawPaul's mind, he couldn't care more; he could only care less!
you have gone from a member who posted intellectually stimulating replies and threads to one who seems always cynical, ready to argue and mostly negative in tone. this thread is particularly in poor taste given your "what if pigs could fly" response to coinguy1 only a few hours prior to starting this thread. a coincidence, i think not. i view it as a thinly veiled attack in violation of the forum rules and would hope you would delete it.

You must be right. Otherwise, he wouldn't have taken the time to start this thead.

Agree. You could have asked this question without specifically using "M.F." in your hypothetical scenario. We can all figure out who M.F. is. If you have a beef with him, use the PM's.

If i graded a coin two points higher than I really thought it was, the other graders would either agree or disagree with me. If the former, that would mean that what i really thought was too conservative. And if the latter, my overly liberal grade opinion would be outvoted/overruled. So, either way, on a practical basis, my intent and action would likely have no impact.

coinguy1, You mentioned other graders...
How many graders look at each coin prior to the final grade being awarded

It's been more than 10 years since I left NGC, so I can't speak to what the routine is these days. But when I was there, most of the time three graders (one of them, a finalizer) viewed the coins. And the coins were also checked again (by one of the same graders or an additional grader) after they were encapsulated.

I didn't know that this was a new attitude as it seems prevalent in all his posts. Mark is held in the highest regard by most people I know on each side of the street. It seems kind of odd to attack him openly with nothing more than..."a feller asked me that one time... I really could care less". Seems kind of weak. I would just recommend that Mark move on and place this pp on ignore.
