    That is a nice looking coin for an AU58, and you are right, it is no surprise that it sold for that price.

    The 1921 (both mints) routinely go for more than any of the books show. I overpaid for both of mine, and every higher grade coin I have watched goes on the high side.

    Merc's are tough to find eye appealing in AU58... That coin is exceptionally nice and close to FSB.

    It's the PCGS AU58 Effect. Put that coin in a PCGS MS62 holder, and I bet it sells for $300 less.

    Most eye appealing key or semi's in PCGS AU58's of any series have been hammering stronger prices on EBay then Heritage since the Everyman registry was established.

    I've been watching the SLQ' auctions close in total amazement!
