If it's graded the coins registration number would provide a lead but i'll guess you know that , it's a thought though , i don't think there is a site that has listings of stolen coins or similar.
The PNG has a registry for stolen coins http://www.stolencoin.org/ but you have to be a PNG member to use it. Maybe one of the PNG members here could lend a hand.
By the way, caitlin, I still remember that one-of-a-kind 1920 Buffalo.
