Bell looks like it fell of a truck and got the sh!t kicked out of it
Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.
U.S. Type Set
The toning could be completely different from the pic...after all it is a T.T. photo.
That reverse should have this coin in an MS-60 holder.

There are far too many ticks on the bell to even warrant a grade of MS62; I'd put it in a genuine holder personally for the huge scratches. Are we sure that the scratches aren't on the holder?
As others wrote, too many hits on the bell really detracts.

if you can , blow it up with the DjVu option and you will see that carnage is not on the holder .
The reverse prime focal area of a Franklin is the bell ...............
I was searching the T.T upcoming Franklin lot's as I love to do and seeing a " Rainbow " 60-D in MS-65 really caught my eye !
I have never seen the coin before and my intent is only to bring to attention to the fact that the reverse seems to be no where near my standards for a MS-65 coin .
The toning ? to each their own on that aspect - but the high points of the G and D of GOD on the obverse are a pretty good "tell" ......
Examples such as this one are why I choose to buy and collect my favorite TPG coins .
PCGS is in general very tight on their grading of 60-D's - I have a couple that look fully MS-66 , but there in 65 holders ; ...... thats the way I like to buy 'um
Edited to add: here is one I sold recently on ebay.....looks just as dinged up on the bell, but no AT.

What if the obverse is a solid 66 and the reverse a 64. Imo thats what this coin looks like to me based on the pics and maybe the reason for the 65 grade?

Not AT. That toning comes from the snap-lock after market mint set holders.

Yepper. I have seen many nice "Carolina Blue" Frankies from those ol snap locks . . . Bought a few . . . LOVE the pale blue Frankies ! ! !
Nice obverse . . . the Rev may not look as bad in-hand . . . Maybe . . . ? ? ? . . . All depends on the price ! ! !

pretty noticeable hit on the cheek ? whenever i submit franklins with this kind of dings i always receive the ms64 grade ???? submitted several mint set franklins in 2010 with much better surfaces than this 60d and how did they grade ? you guessed it ; ms64 ! i need a grading class on franklin halves i guess ??
