SCD experts- Is this authentic?

... and attributed correctly? A friend of mine bought this from a dealer's miscellaneous 'junk' bowl a while back, and believes it is HK 671. Is this correct? According to the book, it's pretty rare (R7) if it is. Opinions? Second opinions?

How could it circulate? But, just judging by the look and wear, I'd say
it's the real deal. R-7, $300?

I have one. This one is nicer. The book lists it as silver, but I'm pretty sure that some (all?) are actually silver plated.
Whether it's really an R-7 is another question. The rarity rating in the book are "flaky". Whatever the actual rating, it's pretty rare, and an excellent junk box purchase!

this seems to be a self-indictment of sorts. wasn't there an effort in the book to correct erreneous Rarity listings and weren't you involved in that effort??

Yes, yes, and yes. It's a self indictment: there was an effort, and I was involved. That puts me in a good position to say that the effort wasn't perfect, huh?
The ratings in the second edition are generally better than the ratings in the first edition. In many cases they're MUCH better. They're still not perfect, though.
I'm much happier with the way that the relative rarities are holding up, compared to the absolute numbers. Most of the R-7s are rarer than most of the R-6s, etc.
