"Please help us keep these boards professional and informative…. And fun." - DW --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BONGO HURTLES ALONG THE RAIN SODDEN HIGHWAY OF LIFE ON UNDERINFLATED BALD RETREAD TIRES
I get remarkably tired of hearing about exceeding common coins being found in circulation. A cull AG 1918 penny hasn't been in circulation for over 90 years and doesn't have any stories to tell except that some col- lector got tired of holding onto it or thought someone would get a kick out of finding it. It isn't going to be rare anytime soon.
An XF 1960 dime hasn't been circulating for half a century. Someone ac- cidenmtlyspent itor didn't think it warranted a trip to the coin shop. Some people just don't care that it's silver and will dump it.
Don't get me wrong, a VF '50-D nickel or a VG '82-NMM dime are hugely interesting. There's so much great stuff in circulation and we rarely hear about it and are treated to stories about slider '57-D pennies instead.
I don't even open up the circulation finds threads sometimes if they don't say what it is in the title.

Actually, I appreciate an overwhelming majority of the topic threads, including some on my "bore" list. I've learned many useful things from all of you. And I miss all the Longacre threads. I assume he's the only paid writer on this board and he's holding out for a big pay increase.

2. "Eagles...widgets or coins?" Who cares, whatever floats your boat.
3. "AT or NT?" - I couldn't care less. Are they pretty colors and nice to look at? Sure. But there are so many other things to collect, I'm never apt to be a buyer.
A wise person once said... if one is bored, they are most likely boring...
With that said...
I generally find discussions about what is boring to be quite boring...
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free
