Do them here then Ebay if here does not work. Welcome to the boards....Hi Doug!
  • Sorry if I was not clear, I've been looking around ebay and the concept of "Hot Packs"
Like auctions where you have some chase cards, as well as each auction has something such as
    "Guaranteed 1 GU/Auto
    3 Numbered Cards
    2 Rookies
    5 Misc"

Something to that effect, but I would do it on a better scale including some nice "redemptions" for memorabilia and sets such as an A-ROD Auto ball or bat, some 8x10's and unopened boxes of cards.

I'm currently going through to see what sort of guarantee I could do, just wanted to see if something like that would work.

So....are you saying you are a pack searcher???
  • No, I guess I'm addressing it wrong. I'm talking about me taking my collection and making it into packs and selling it with chase redemptions/cards in there.

A set price for a set amount (check previous post) and then randomly throughout there would be the chase cards advertised (what I'm planning) would be Arod Ball, Arod Bat (both auto'd), and then some super packs (all auto's/jerseys) Along with some other vintage cards and a few 8x10's... It's sorta difficult to explain I'm hoping someone here can help me say what I'm trying to say.

I actually hate pack searchers, I haven't purchased retails in years because there is never anything there.

Mystery pack might be a better term.

lol might be a better term. Good luck though.
  • Alright, well what I'll do is put something together and get some feedback from people to see if it will work.
    Thanks for the quick responses!

Now I understand what you want to do. Here is my suggestion:

Sell your higher priced cards here. (Say $10.00 and up ... NOT $10.00 book value, but $10.00 actual value.) Make sure you include scans. Then just group together all your cheaper cards and sell them in lots of 25 or 50 for a few bucks.
    STAY HEALTHY!

  • Well I've got memorabilia too, and people from Phoenix tend to either not buy at all or offer you 25$ for a piece. I had a giant mickey mantle litho auto/coa that someone from Vegas ended up driving down to pick up because my price was so good.

I really wanted to do the mystery pack kinda deal that always appealed to me, but I guess that works too- Just sent a Walter Payton Rookie and Michael Jordan second year card to get graded can't wait for them to get back... I'm hoping for 9+ on both of them.

I think you would sell a few of the mystery packs. I've bought a few of those in the past. I never got much out of them but it was still kinda fun. image

Well I was actually going through and organizing my stuff, I was going to make between 50-200 depending on what I had (gu/numbered) etc and guarantee that way.

I'm probably going to do singles for a bit then when I get some good transactions I'll organize my mystery packs.

I'll have a thread up for singles later image

    Thanks,

    I get it now! image
  • Similar to what Tri-Star does just without the Mantle, Aaron, Clemente, etc.?
  • No, these would have (in each pack) like
    x GU/auto
    y ref/#'d
    z rookies
    q misc

And in whatever amount of stuff I'm putting in them would either be redemptions or cards etc

  • Found out how to do PM's... I'm going to do an inventory and then get some numbers and start putting something together. I'll post it when I get it together thanks for the input image
  • Just put up an ebay listing for these... can be found here
Obviously not being hit by ebay fees/paypal I can do it cheaper here.

    << <i>"Redemptions"
In 10 of the 75 packs I will be inserting "redemption" cards . These will be used for:

-Alex Rodriguez Autograph Ball PSA/DNA 9
    -Alex Rodriguez Autograph Bat >>

I'm confused. In this thread HERE (thread has now been removed), you had the Rodriguez ball and bat for sale then pulled them saying actually just did "mystery" packs and put the strasburgs, arod ball/bat "redemptions" in there.

But aren't these the items you say are "redemptions" in their own listings?

Alex Rodriguez A-Rod Autograph Baseball Sweet Spot Auto PSA/DNA 9

Alex Rodriguez A-Rod Autograph Bat with CoA Big Stick

  • I'll delete those listings... Those have been up for atleast a month each, I put them up for good until cancelled. Typically I just swap them around to whatever I have at the time (and I only paid the one fee for GTC months ago). I like doing this because it avoids some of E-bays ridiculous fees if I ever want to just change the item/description completely it costs me nothing.

I AM inserting ALL of these into the packs and I guarantee that... I'm doing them on ebay too, I can grab a camera and picture which pack gets which redemption if you would like.

The arod bat has been up for 59 days (Being refreshed in 23 hrs) and ball is just the same (23 hours) I've changed the description on both auctions.

You have to keep in mind I posted "thoughts" for this yesterday, and it was a spur of the moment idea- and I actually drew it up and changed it a bit later in the day, so I did it a bit sloppy.
  • Unsure how strict they are on these, but ebay will yank raffle/grab bag type listings when/if they see them. At least they used to.
    imageimageimage
  • Well that sucks guess I have to hope they are successful here :/

Your PM's are still not active here.
  • How do I get them active? I know it constantly says "No New Messages" even though (I think) I've sent a few.

I can be contacted over AOL Instant Messenger "Sean1125" or you can email me with some sort of contact info (Sean1125@aol.com)

Top right of the page you are on, click "profile", towards the bottom is "private messages" click "on". Click "update profile" and wait a couple seconds, you should be good to go. If they are on a little padlock will show up in the top right side of any post you make.
  • Good now thanks image
  • Hopefully looking to start selling these image I've got all the cards and whatnot sitting around I spent about 10 hours putting all these together! lol
  • Getting my 76 payton grade back on monday I can't wait!
