Question on the Darkside forum regarding possible new PCGS holder.....

  Nothing new about this. They first used them on the Presidollars and the Husak large cents in 2007. Much better than the NGC "fangs," as far as I'm concerned.

  Does that San Marino 5 Lire happen to be the same size as the US Presidential $? Perhaps it is just a reuse of that insert.

  I posted the question on the darkside forum. Since I don't collect US coins, I have never seen this holder from PCGS and no nothing of "Husak"
  large cents. This is the first time that I have seen them. BTW, they are used in the auctions for all types of sizes of coins.

  The seller seems to have quite a variety of world coins of various sizes with this pronged holder, but it was not used on all of the coins in his listings. All of these were apparently slabbed in Paris, thus the question by the OP on the darkside forum. Before anyone suggests "fake," let me say that I know the seller and am confident the slabs are legit. -Preussen

  Nice holder and a definite improvement. So, why are they using this new holder with all their coins?
