So what is happening on E-Bay? Seems like with a sell out, they should be taking off.

    my guesses:

speculative dealers bought them from the mint over the weekend.
collector interest isn't high enough to overcome supply on eBay.

    another WAG...

they are on BO, so it's not like they are going to hit the CC anytime soon... or even hit the "cancel boxes gone" state...

this could also be a speculative buy on the mid-term elections. And if gold does not rocket after the election: "Cancel"

edit: and after all this, let it be known:
    1) I jumped in on the 1 oz bandwagon just before the sell out
    2) I've already PM'd 2 people about flipping them
    3) This was coincidental with the sell out as I bought some extras to try to seal a 70 on a dang 1 oz for a change... So I loaded the boat a bit, then happily noted the sell-out. Then, I PM'd people thinking I over did it a bit and could unwind some. (and am not flipping previously graded coins!)

This is a package sellout. They are available still in the 4-coin set.

I think you're correct on both counts. The ebay sales so far are not profitable.

    these dont have the*rarity* appeal,

but do have scarcity when dealers are trying to locate proof gold for precious metal IRA's

once these proofs are gone, buy prices will shoot up again.

remember, not so long ago, proof 1 oz gold with box and papers were wholesale buy at 2,100 per oz.

4 out of 5 pricing days gone.

The average so far is $1346.06

To give everyone an idea what the fixes for tomorrow would need to be to see a price increase:
    Both the Wed am and Wed pm fixes would need to be 1365.75 & 1365.75 ((1350 * 10 - 10768.50(8 day sum)) / 2 )

It's possible for it to increase, but my bets are on no price increase.

I forgot that there is a Fed action, or inaction, via a FOMC decision due on Wednesday ~2:15pm (this time is after both of the London gold fixes)

The proof 1 ozers were $1358 etc? I can see how they would sell out at that price. Heck , I would have bought a few too. All gone?

You need to, to afford that Kimber. image After ENDLESS bellyaching about the .45 acp. I may get one. image

I'll admit that first here since no one knows what a brutal bashing I am about to get over this. I got away with my flip-flop on .223, but the .45 acp wound is long and deep.

So, before the word gets out, who can tell me what the smallest, lightest and very best, most reliable .45 acp in existence (to protect my coins - see, it's all coin related image ) and if that .45 is a dang Kimber? From the price you'd think so. Of course I might have to sell my coins to get it which would of course negate the entire process.

Just can't make money on these.

    1585 coin
    30 grading
    18 first strike
    5 fee
    17 return shipping
    20 shipping to pcgs
80 ebay final value fee BIN $2000 (if you can get this)
    58 paypal fee
    20 shipping to ebay winner

    ==== $1833.00

some have been selling for BIN $1860

Add cost of sending some back to the Mint.

If you sent two coins in and one came back a 69, you lost money. If both came back 69, you lost lots of money.

My Springfield XD is like butter; hardly a kick with regular ammo or 45 ACP Plus and very accurate with easy breakdown. I hear it is uber reliable.

A half ounce of Gold will get you the gun and much ammo.
